Tickets are discounted for members or $36.00pp for non-members.

To see our membership packages head to our Wise Women Walking membership page

We will be walking a loop in Upper Sturt Gorge, which includes parts of the River Trail (sometimes called ‘River Hike’), Wattle Trail, Lomandra Trail and Parrianna Link Trail.

This walk is a hard walk and is rated as Grade 4. We will be challenged with some rock scrambling, steep climbs/descents, possible wet feet at creek crossings and lots of adventure!

The walk is approximately 8km (allow up to 4 hours due to the challenges this walk will provide us).

To see details on walk grading please head to  Walk Grading Information

Please arrive at 9.45am for a 10.00am.

We will begin and end our walk at the Parrianna Track trail head where it meets with Broadmeadow Drive in Flagstaff Hill.  The carpark is opposite house number 106 on Broadmeadow Drive.

Please note that there are no toilets located here (or within Sturt Gorge Recreation Park)

Don’t forget to print off your I.C.E. medical details form – download here if needed -  I.C.E. Medical Form

If you are unable to print, your leader will have a spare form for you to complete at the beginning of the walk.

You can check the forecast for the walk location here - Sturt Detailed Forecast

If the weather forecast is for extreme weather or a fire ban is issued for the Adelaide Hills, this walk will be cancelled the day before and fully refunded.

We will only cancel last minute (by text message and email) if there is a severe weather warning/thunderstorm warning or weather events that are likely to impact on the safety of our leaders and walkers.

Due to the variability of the weather, the following items will be needed:

- a daypack (25-35 litre) backpack

- 2-3 litres of water

- sun protection (hat, sunnies, suncream) or wet weather gear (check the forecast and plan accordingly!)

- blister kit/personal medication

- high energy snacks/fruit (and lunch to enjoy enroute)

- boots/comfortable walking shoes

- layerable clothing for before/during/after the walk (eg. jumper/jacket)

- walking poles (optional)

Please ensure you have the minimum gear required as no refunds are possible after booking. If you arrive underprepared without wet weather clothing or the gear listed above, our Leaders have the right to ask you not to walk with us for safety reasons.

Note: All our leaders carry group first aid kits, emergency communication devices and are qualified bushwalking leaders.

If you are no longer able to attend the walk, and it is BEFORE 5pm the day before the walk, please reply by email wisewomenwalking@outlook.com

If it is after 5pm the day before the walk, please text Cherie on 0438 084 187.

The night before the walk, you will receive an email with the mobile number you need to use for last minute cancellations or if you need directions on the morning of the walk.

Our walks are all about fun, fitness and friendship - not a personal training session. If we cannot walk and talk at the same time we are walking too fast! And we never leave anyone behind.

Minimum age requirement for our walks is 15 years old (as long they are accompanied by a supervising adult). Please check with us if unsure.

For the walk to go ahead, we need a minimum of 4 walkers registered by the registration closing time (5pm the day before the walk).  If a walk is cancelled due to the minimum number not being met, participants who have registered will be notified by text the evening before the walk and a refund will be given.

During our walks, photos may be taken for use publicly on our website, social media channels and e-newsletter. If you do not wish for your photo to be taken/used, please notify us via email - wisewomenwalking@outlook.com

We welcome your feedback and/or questions. If you have any feedback or questions at all, please email us at wisewomenwalking@outlook.com  or you can text or call Cherie Rothery on 0438 084 187.
